Yes, as long as you're not trying to fly commercial. I don't think the bus lines require an ID nor do the trains.

You never need a passport to travel within your own country. If you fly, you need a govt issued photo I.D. like a drivers license or state I.D. card. If you take the bus or drive, you are not required to have I.D., though it certainly is wise to have it.
