Answer 1 :
If you fly from LAX to Sacramento...I would recommend Southwest Airlines!! One...they don't charge for luggage and the customer service is great!! Regarding documents to fly or even take the train.....all you will need is your ticket, boarding pass and a government issued I.D...most likely your drivers license!! Thats it!!
Answer 2 :
I would take the plane. You only need your ID to fly. It would be 8hrs by car and even longer by train. Depending on your closest airport, JetBlue or Southwest would be the best airline. JetBlue from Long Beach to SAC is super easy!!
Answer 3 :
To drive a car yourself, you need a license. To ride as a passenger in a car driven by someone else, you do not need any documents. To go on an airplane, you need some form of government-issued photo ID. Most passengers use their licenses to drive cars, but some use passports or various other documents.

About When is the worst time (season) to travel I-5 from Sacramento to Seattle
When is the worst time (season) to travel I-5 from Sacramento to Seattle?
I need to know when the snow season is along I-5 from Sacramento to Seattle. I know the winter is a bad time to travel in any mountains, but what month does the snow start to fall along this path?

Answer 1 :
Definitely in the winter - traffic, snow (as you pass the southern parts of oregon), lots of rain (oregon valley)
Answer 2 :
Snow can begin falling as early as November. It doesn't usually become a problem until around December, but there have been exceptions. DOT usually does a good job keeping the area passable since it is the major North-South route, but sometimes nature throws them a "curve ball".
Answer 3 :
I was born in CA and lived there till I was 41. Check out weather.com.... you really don't want to travel I-5 during the months they get fog - and I mean fog that comes from all directions, including the ground. I've had to drive it at a mear 5 mph during those times and most folks will just pull over and sit on the side of the road and wait for the sun to come up.

It is OK , but I would go to Mapquest.com and get a detailed route with miles and estimated times. Just enter your start and final address and go with their recommendation. You can ask for shortest or fastest route.

Answer 1 :
no, passports are for traveling to different countries. You should bring a military ID, school ID, or driver's license.
Answer 2 :
Both LA and Sacramento are in the state of California, and California IS one of the 50 states in the United States of America. Why on earth do you think you'd need a passport to go between 2 cities in the US, much LESS the same state!?? NO, you don't need a passport to fly between the 2 cities.
Answer 3 :
You need a picture ID that is issued by a government agency or two non-photo IDs, one of which must be issued by a government agency. A passport qualifies as a picture ID but your picture ID does not have to be a passport. A drivers license works fine.
Answer 4 :
Any government-issued picture identification should do the trick.
Answer 5 :
no Security Directive 96-05, which the Federal Aviation Agency issued to all airlines IDENTIFY THE PASSENGER -- "A. all passengers who appear to be 18 years of age will present a government issued picture ID, or two other forms of ID, at least one of which must be issued by a government authority. "B. The agent must reconcile the name on the ID and the name on the ticket -- except as noted below. "C. If the passenger cannot produce identification, or if it cannot be reconciled to match the ticket, the passenger becomes a 'selectee.' Clear all of their luggage as noted in Section 6 below. Clear selectee's checked and carry-on luggage, and suspicious articles discovered by the questions asked." That said, the last time I was in LAX it took them over an hour to figure out my radio was a radio. And Even then they never turned it on to see if it would pick up a local radio station! You might want a passport for them except they are on another planet!
Answer 6 :
no, just a valid ID
Answer 7 :
You can use a passport as a form of picture ID but a driver's license is good enough.
Answer 8 :
Unless they moved one of those cities out of the country you do NOT need a passport to travel, unless you have no other state/government ID to use... :0

About cheapest way to travel from sacramento to seattle
cheapest way to travel from sacramento to seattle?
I really want my girlfriend to come up here and visit next week but airfare is so expensive! And the greyhound is more expensive than flying somehow...does anyone have any ideas? She can't drive here. I'm hoping to spend less than $200 round-trip for travel alone. Any help is most appreciated

Answer 1 :
Your problem is timing. To fly from Sacramento to Seattle next week will run you $280 (taxes included) because your travel is "spur of the moment". If you book that SAME flight more that 30 days in advance, and fly mid-week (Tues-Thurs) that round trip fare is $200 (taxes included) and that is within your price range.
