What are the best restaurants in Sacramento?
I'd really like some opinions from people who either live in Sacramento, or travel & eat there a lot. I'm going to be traveling up from Los Angeles with my work partner for a couple of seminars later this week, so we need some really good places to eat at. Please bear in mind he's an ex-Quarterback & eats like a horse, so no 'haute cuisine' or anything. Just somewhere friendly, with great food and a great atmosphere. Thanks, Andie. No crap either. Thanks.

Mc Donalds, DQ, Sonic, and churches chicken .
Answer 2 :
When I lived there a few years ago my wife and I always liked going to Lucca's on J st. It's NoCal/Italian cuisine, with a really good spaghetti and meatballs.

Answer 1 :
either way it's about a 6-8 hour drive.
Answer 2 :
About 8 hours, depending on the traffic. If you take Highway 1 you can add a few hours to the trip. 5, while boring, is really the fastest.
Answer 3 :
If you take 5, and average 90MPH, "most people do on that stretch," you can make it in about 4 hours, keep in mind that Hwy 101 will add about 100 Miles to your trip and Hwy 1 will add about 200 Miles to your trip, in fact, people coming from the bay area take HWY 5 because its even less miles from there, and they are right next to 101!!!
Answer 4 :
Hi, From Sacramento it is a good 7 1/2 hours. I am not sure which way would be the best to take. Be careful down in that traffic. A Friend, poppy1
Answer 5 :
takin 101 ur looking at a good 8-9 hours
Answer 6 :
Take 99 South to Paso Robles. Paso Robles will kick you into the 101/ 1. Follow that til u get to L.A. Average time unknown because the views are incredible. If you want fastest time 99 North to Sacramento. 3 lane highway and longest stretch without gas station only 30 minutes. Happy Traveling.

Answer 1 :
Sacramento we have the Capitol Building which you may like to see
Answer 2 :
The movie star/governor Arnold lives there.
Answer 3 :
Arnold does not live in Sacramento. He stays at a hotel when he is here, which isn't that often. As for travel attractions...Old Sac is ok...Capitol...that's about it.
Answer 4 :
Go to Old Sacramento. It's a few city blocks of the old town left. With wooden sidewalks, etc. My favorite thing is a caramel apple with mini chocolate chips sold at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory there. They have some fun little shops and such to see there. They have the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sac as well. You can catch light-rail to the K street mall and walk to old sac from there. Just ask anyone, they will point you to it. Also, down at the K street mall is the omni-max theater which would be fun if it's a rainy day. But San Fran is about 2 hours away...... Are you sure you would want to drive to Sac? Here's a link of things to do in Sac. http://sacramento-hotels.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g32999-Activities-Sacramento_California.html

Answer 1 :
yup.
Answer 2 :
Yes, as long as you're not trying to fly commercial. I don't think the bus lines require an ID nor do the trains.
Answer 3 :
You never need a passport to travel within your own country. If you fly, you need a govt issued photo I.D. like a drivers license or state I.D. card. If you take the bus or drive, you are not required to have I.D., though it certainly is wise to have it.
Answer 4 :
No - you need a driver's license (and that's a photo id)
